Among the most famous whales are Moby Dick and the one that swallows Pinocchio. These adventures animals have always kept a great mystery. In Velas de la Ballena, we want to share our fascination with the whale, not only because we bear his name, but also because of its beautiful meaning. Our brand was founded in 1997 in Punta Ballena, on the Uruguayan coast, which has this name due to the shape of its bay: a cetacean at rest. Our mascot has a very deep meaning, like the ocean it inhabits. The whale symbolizes creativity. It even goes further, because we have to find this creativity within ourselves. Like the whale, we have to make a journey of reflection and knowledge.

Our handmade candle and signature brand, the whale reflects that majesty and symbolism to illuminate our home and accompany us in that interior search. The whale shaped candle can be found in various tones of blue, from the lightest as the crystal clear waters of the sea surface, to the cobalt that mimics the sea’s depths.
